About this blog

I started this blog for two reasons:

#1 is that I need a place to record all the good things I've seen God do for me and my family as I practice living frugally.

#2 is that I hope it inspires someone else to follow the same principles.

We are by no means a perfect family, and I am by no means an expert on living frugally and practicing provident living. But my goal is for my family to live providently and do the best we can to be good stewards over the resources God has blessed us with.  My hope is that through keeping a record of our goals and achievements to live providently, I can see what I need to work on, and also appreciate where God has helped me grow.

The most important thing I have learned so far is that I cannot do this myself. No matter how hard I try to be frugal and provident, I will never reach my goals if I don't involve God. I will always fall short when I try to do it by myself, and as a result I end up beating myself up over my inadequacies. The only way to overcome this is to involve God; to invite Him to change me and make me better, to ask Him to teach me how to be frugal and live providently, and let Him guide me and my family on the journey to being debt free and prepared for the future. That takes time, humility, and faith, but I know that He will help us as a family to be prepared and protected, and at the same time turn our weaknesses into strengths.

Please feel free to comment on our blog. Ideas for improvement are welcome, and if something I've posted has helped you be a little better at being frugal, please let me know so that I can share about it on the blog. My ultimate goal is to help others help themselves, whilst letting God help me!
